چکیده
Staphylococcus aureus (S.aureus) plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis (AD) via secretion several virulence factors that can exacerbate disease. S.aureus growth and inhibition is one potential therapeutic approaches AD treatment. Ultraviolet radiation (UVR)-based phototherapy widely used treatment options for with favourable benefit-risk ratio. UVR has been shown being able inducing antimicrobial peptides (AMP). We therefore hypothesize efficacy at least partly due to its ability induce AMP not only from host cells, but also certain skin resident microbes. To test hypothesis, we first investigated supernatants obtained common commensal bacteria isolated human inhibit growth. The microbes were grown overnight tryptic soy broth followed by centrifugation sterile filtration. supernatant was added suspension changes calculating area under curve (AUC) OD600 values measured 24 hours. Intriguingly, S. hominis, S.xylosus S.simulans showed slight significant further examined if action on these commensals. this end, commensals exposed different doses UVR. as described above suspension. found UVB altered their inhibitory when compared respective unirradiated controls. Taken together, our preliminary results indicate UV exposure arm increased producing antimicrobials exert efficacy.

Staphylococcus aureus: a blemish on skin immunity.
Staphylococcus aureus is the leading cause of human skin infections. In this issue of Cell Host & Microbe, new research probes how a change in surface hydrophobicity mediated by a single S. aureus protein renders the pathogen resistant to key molecular effectors of skin innate immunity, including cationic antimicrobial peptides and fatty acid constituents of sebum. Novel treatment strategies fo...
متن کاملLipoteichoic Acid Inhibits Staphylococcus aureus Biofilm Formation
A biofilm is an aggregate of microorganisms in which cells adhere to biological or non-biological surfaces and is responsible for various infectious diseases. Infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus, including pneumonia, endocarditis, and osteomyelitis, are often associated with colonization and biofilm formation. Although lipoteichoic acid (LTA) is involved in biofilm formation, the specifi...
متن کاملDabigatran inhibits Staphylococcus aureus coagulase activity.
The ability of Staphylococcus aureus to clot plasma through conformational activation of prothrombin by staphylocoagulase is used to distinguish S. aureus from coagulase-negative staphylococci. We show that while the direct thrombin inhibitor dabigatran inhibits staphylocoagulase activity, the clinical use of dabigatran etexilate is not expected to interfere with direct tube coagulase testing.

متن کاملAspartate inhibits Staphylococcus aureus biofilm formation.
Biofilm formation renders Staphylococcus aureus highly resistant to conventional antibiotics and host defenses. Four D-amino acids (D-Leu, D-Met, D-Trp and D-Tyr) have been reported to be able to inhibit biofilm formation and disassemble established S. aureus biofilms. We report here for the first time that both D- and L-isoforms of aspartate (Asp) inhibited S. aureus biofilm formation on tissu...
